Common questions

Does Greek Seas Field need a connection?

No. All 220 species, the 80 dive and snorkel sites, the depth-zone explorer and every branch of the visual key ship inside the app. Airplane mode, a cove with no bars, or a boat offshore all work the same.

How does the visual key work?

It is a short decision tree with eight steps: body shape, fins, pattern, size, depth, habitat, colour, and behaviour. Each answer narrows the bundled catalogue to a shorter list of likely matches, which you can then compare side by side in the comparison tray.

Why is a species missing, or a record wrong?

The catalogue is curated by hand and every correction is welcome. Send the species name, the location and depth where you saw it, and what looks off. Corrections are folded into future releases of the app.

Can I save or share what I identify?

Yes. Add up to four species to the comparison tray, then generate a shareable species card with key field marks and safety notes through ShareLink or as a PDF. No login is needed.

Do I need an account or a subscription?

No. Greek Seas Field has no account, no sign-in, no in-app purchases, no subscription and no advertising. Everything is included with the app.

What about my data?

The app runs entirely on your device: Greek Seas Field does not collect personal data, and there are no third-party analytics or advertising services inside it. The privacy policy spells this out in plain language.

Which devices are supported?

Greek Seas Field is an iPhone and iPad app from Greek Seas Field, released in 2026. If you hit something that looks wrong on your model or iOS version, tell us — that is exactly the kind of report we can act on.
